O Come, O Come

"But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart." Luke 2:19

Knowing the divine is within us. Put there by no man.

Feeling the divine inhabit us, come through us, manifest in our flesh.

Knowing that the manger, the census, the shepherds, and the shit are all part of the story.

Our liberation shines like a star in the east.

We are the joy of the world.

Wise men and angels recognize our wholeness, offer gifts and sing glory.

Knowing this life is precious. Knowing it will not last. Our tender heart opens to lepers and Pharisees, to kings and thieves.

Our sacred heart–potent in its vulnerability–heals the sick, bleeds and is broken, and rises again and again…
